Studies on effect of Copper corrosion passivators on the Paper insulated copper conductor by XRD, SEM and EDX analysis

چکیده
The paper focuses on corrosion phenomena involving copper, corrosive sulphur and solid insulation of oil-immersed transformers. A study of the available mitigation technique such as passivation to reduce the effects of corrosion phenomena is carried out with the commercially available passivator, Irgamet 39 (Toluiltriazole dialkylamine) (ciba), with concentration of 100 ppm. The paper insulated copper conductors with transformer oil are aged for 1400 hrs at 140° C with and without passivators and tested both paper insulation and copper samples with the X-ray Diffraction (XRD), Scanning Electron Microscope(SEM) and Energy dispersive X-ray Spectroscopy (EDX). The SEM scan after ageing with passivator shows the formation of thin film of passivator on the copper surface. The SEM, XRD and EDX scans after ageing without passivator show the formation of copper sulphide on the copper surface as well as on the

Corrosion Protection of Copper with Hybrid Sol-Gel Containing 1H-1, 2, 4-triazole-3-thiol
To improve the corrosion protection of copper metal, 0.01M concentration of 1H-1,2,4-triazole-3-thiol (TAT) was incorporated into the hybrid sol-gel monolayers containing 3-glycidoxypropyltrimethoxysilane (GPTMS) and Tetraethoxysilane (TEOS). It was further subjected to hydrolysis and condensation reaction to form a sol-gel matrix. The TAT-doped hybrid sol-gel coating was applied over the c...

Iran’s Sarcheshmeh copper industries with an annual production of 120,000 tones are the biggest of it’s kind in South Asia. The main method of production is pyrometallurgical matte making in two reverberatory furnaces which use direct–bond magnesite-chromite refractories supplied by German and Austrian companies. Following a recent major overhaul, bricks in contact with slag, matte and furnace ...

Due to the complex corrosion mechanism of the bronze objects, explaining the structure of different layers of corrosion in these objects at microscopic levels is possible. Typically copper oxide(I) is the first corrosion layer on surface of bronze objects that are excavated of historical sites. However, depending on the environmental conditions، various forms of corrosion layer of tin or copper...
متن کاملComparison Nanostructure Behaviour of Copper Species on the Silicamatrix Xerogels
The incorporation of copper species is synthesized in a silica matrix by the sol-gel method. We have doped copper ions and copper particles using two different copper sources: Cu(NO3)2.3H2O and copper particles chemically synthesized. We can prepare the particles of copper metallic, cuprous and cupric oxide and compare the synthesis and characterization copper species on the silica matrix. O...
